Good bye 1.0, Hello 2.0 - Week 3

The Internet was once a read-only (Web 1.0) environment, with opportunities of social- networking, blogging, etc., it is easy to publish your opinion in a split second! Hello Web 2.0 where the Internet is a read-write environment.

We can not only present our information, but we can participate in it! I no longer need to mail or even email my photos, but I can tag someone or tag myself!

In class we were assigned to choose 3 applications from the Web 2.0 Web site. One of the applications I selected was Farmville, Facebook has many games that are free to play, but highly addictive.
Is the internet taking over people lives? You don't have to leave your home to set up a date, complete a research paper, pay a bill, or set an appointment!

Web 2.0 and PR?
It is important to keep a close eye on a blogs pertaining to a client. Many of the issues concerning the company may be posted all over the internet, making it a public issue of concern. The job of the PR practitioner is to build trust with its publics. Some information that shouldn't be revealed could be destructive for the reputation of the client. This new Internet has also made the job of any communications field to be almost completely electronic. Newspapers and press releases are now read online!
