What is educational technology?
The craft or art (techne in Greek) of education when a person teaches, learns or instructs.
In the past we used tape recorders or video cassettes in order to use technology to teach. We now have access to multiple tools that can enhance the learning process. Educational technology is forever changing and evolving. The common chalk board changed to a white board, which is now the SmartBoard. The SmartBoard allows for teachers to be interactive with their power point presentations.
Here is an example.
Social tools have changed the way that people communicate, such as email, blogging or social networking.
The school-aged child is now supplied with better visual learning. Technology can help gain learner attention and can increase teacher productivity.
Public Relations and educational technology?
The public relations field is now technology pushed. Opinions are posted on blogs and ads are now on youtube. A PR practitioner can grasp the issues within an organization just by researching the multiple blogs. In my class recently I was taught about a Web site that shows all of the blog posts regarding a certain subject matter.

Another site allows for you to enter a zip code and it will tell you the types of people in a designated area.
