Open source software come in very handy when you are trying to insert pictures into your documents. Gimp is a program that allows you to take a computer shot of whatever is on your screen, and then safe it as a jpeg/gif file. I used this to make several power points this semester. Gimp allows you to crop the photo and make many changes to it! In EME we had to send a picture of our wordle, and I used Gimp. Below is an example of how you can use Gimp. PR and Open Source Software? Using programs like Gimp are related to PR and any career that requires you to make any sort of presentation. I have used this program multiple times this semester, since I learned about it in EME. Gimp can be handy, because Photoshop can be super expensive, but this program is free!
